The Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (Bevelstoke, #1)The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Although this wasn't my first Julia Quinn book, I have to say it is probably my favorite (possible tie with "Viscount Who Loved Me.") Miranda Cheever was a heroine that  women can relate with despite the historical setting of the book! This is a highly recommended read!

cancun...crazy place..or relaxing getaway?

Lately there has been much in the news about the gang and drug problem rockin’ Mexico...Living on the border has only intensified the fears of parents! This being said....my sister’s senior class decided to go to Cancun, MX this summer for their senior trip! It was amazing that many of the parents were on board with this and thus began my fateful second trip to Cancun, seven years after my senior trip to the same place!

It was interesting that with so much trouble along the border it was very peaceful and not all scary in Cancun! We did so many awesome things and not once was I scared or did I feel unsafe! The seniors that went on the trip were great! They were so good at staying together and doing things with each other that I never felt like we would lose one!

One of the first things that I noticed when we got to the resort was the massive amount of people! I sort of thought...with all the negative media...that Cancun would be deserted! Not the case! We were surrounded with many others who braved the news and decided to spend their vacation in the beach paradise!

The five days that we spent in Cancun were awesome...from scuba diving to parasailing, Julie and I had a wonderful time! I never felt threatened and was very impressed with the great service and friendliness of the staff at the resort. So to answer the question burning in everyone’s mind...there may be crazies in Mexico but the Cancun is relaxing as ever!
